A Harvard Press book written by various authors on the issue of Intergroup Leadership. Somewhat academic, but overall a good basic leadership guide for those who are attempting to lead across cultures, organizations, tribes, etc.

Crossing the Divide: Intergroup Leadership in a World of Difference (Leadership for the Common Good)

Just finishing this book by Soong-Chan Rah. More than just a rant on Western Christianity, this book has fortified my current views on the Body of Christ around the world, and how we in the West should view the growth of the church. We lament the fact that the "American church" is shrinking, while not recognizing that the church is indeed vibrant and growing among other people groups and cultures.
-
Deliberate Simplicity: How the Church Does More by Doing Less (Leadership Network Innovation Series)
A good quick read about the essentials of church and how doing less can actually accomplish more.
-
Good book I've just started to read.

Robert Lupton addresses the issues of working in poor communities. Numerous insights regarding the flaws of modern entitlement programs - public, parochial, and private are detailed as well as a discussion of the advantages of "development" (teach a man to fish) vs. "betterment" (give a man a fish) programs.

Just started reading this book by Mike Slaughter. So far, I love it! It is right in line with where I'm at in my thinking about church and its mission.

This is an amazing book about the connection between justice, mercy and our witness to the world. Highly recommended.

This amazing book recounts the long history of Christianity in the East and the forces that almost obliterated it's very proof of existence. This book will change your worldview and change your ideas that Christianity was always strongest in the West.
