The greatest challenge for the church in the West today is our ability to adapt to our new reality.

Mark, Natalia, Victoria and JessicaSince 2002, I have served as the Executive Director for LINC Houston, a multi-ethnic urban mission organization.  Before that, I was a missionary pastor on the east side of Houston in a Hispanic neighborhood.

I exist to be out of culture.  I love cultural diversity.  Maybe it comes from being in such a large family, maybe it comes from the values that my parents instilled in me and maybe it's just because that how I was created.

I love chaos and am a contrarian by nature, preferring to simultaneously accept seemingly contradicting truths than to believe I have everything exactly figured out.

I am a mountain biker, wanna be surfer, marathoner and a budding triathlete.

In life, I have (among other things) been a waiter, a scaffold builder, a carpenter, a business owner, a worship leader, a community organizer, a music producer, a pastor and a non-profit executive.  I love a challenge and, to my fault, almost never back down from one.  I would like to believe that I'm a pioneer, but really I'm just following in the footsteps of so many that have come before me in the faith.  My heroes are the persecuted believers around the world and throughout the centuries that risk their lives for the sake of the Gospel.  If I could only be allowed to visit them in Heaven I would consider it a privilege and an honor.

Life Goal: Introduce as many people as possible to the Jesus I know.
